Carlisle, PA
Quality Assurance representatives from Paccar’s Chillicothe, OH, manufacturing plant that focuses on newly built Kenworth trucks recently toured the state of Pennsylvania in collaboration with the Kenworth of Pennsylvania team. Throughout their tour, the team visited three Kenworth of Pennsylvania dealership locations, including Shartlesville, Carlisle, and New Stanton, from July 23-25, 2024.
Throughout their visit, the team met with a series of Kenworth of Pennsylvania Service Technicians and Service Managers, discussing common causes for why trucks come into the service shops for repair. In addition, more than 15 Kenworth fleet customers also met with the Quality Assurance team to provide their valuable input. In a series of interviews and collaborative open-dialogue roundtable sessions, the team dug into the root causes of most frequently seen failures to help improve the build of future trucks.
“The joint goal of this tour was to focus on continuous improvement,” said Tony Wiser, Service Director with Kenworth of Pennsylvania. “Having the ability to provide first-hand customer and technician feedback directly to the factory is invaluable to improving the future builds coming out of the plant. We were happy to partner with Paccar and Kenworth on this very worthwhile activity,” continued Wiser.
The representatives from the Paccar team included, Debra Morris, Unit Manager QA Line; Shane McCullough, QA & Supplier Quality; Travis Bledsoe, Senior Quality Inspector; Josh Hettinger, Quality Supervisor; and Ryan Orlando, District Service Manager.
