Muncy Store Hosts Open House & Truck Show; Raises Money for the Special Olympics PA

On Friday, July 26, 2024, Motor Truck Equipment Company/Kenworth of Pennsylvania, Muncy location, hosted an Open House and Truck Show for customers, employees, vendors, and their families. The event was well attended nearly 250 community members with food, fun, and activities for all ages. Cornhole, axe throwing, raffle prizes, BBQ, industry vendors, and of course some amazing Kenworth trucks on display highlighted the day.

The event also doubled as a fundraiser benefiting the Lycoming County, Special Olympics PA. Throughout the day, a series fundraising activities took place, including selling tickets to vote for a fan favorite in the Truck Show and selling raffle tickets for door prizes. Every dollar raised was directly donated to Special Olympics PA with Motor Truck Equipment Company/Kenworth of Pennsylvania matching every single dollar donated. By the end of the day, the total sum raised resulted in a donation of $2,271 for Special Olympics PA.

“We are thrilled to be part of the Muncy community, and wanted to take advantage of the opportunity to share a beautiful summer day with our customers and families, and ultimately try to give a little back,” said Nevin Weaver, Muncy General Manager. “The turnout we had today was truly remarkable. The support from vendors, our staff, and even our families, demonstrated the tight-knit community that we have here in Muncy,” continued Weaver.

“I am extremely grateful to the Motor Truck family for their support of the Special Olympics,” said Michael Klees, Parts Counter Sales Representative and Outreach Coordinator of Special Olympics PA. “Their willingness to give back and support such an amazing program demonstrates the values and culture that we have here at this company. And, of course, having some of the Special Olympics athletes here with us throughout the day, made it all the more special.”

The Kenworth of Pennsylvania Muncy store is located at 80 Fitness Drive, Muncy, PA 17756. As an authorized dealer location for Kenworth, the store specializes in parts sales and service of all makes and models of commercial trucks. In addition, the location is also an authorized Thermo King dealer and can provide long-term lease and rental trucks through its Motor Truck PacLease division.
